An invaluable opportunity to explore a process oriented approach to working with people. Experience live practice, and receive direct supervision in a small group from one of Australia’s leading trainers in Process Oriented facilitation. For all counselors, psychotherapists, psychologists, social workers, facilitators, health practitioners, including allied and alternative health professionals, who areinterested in improving their skills.

This group will primarily involve practice with immediate feedback and skills training. Theoretical explanations will be woven into the learning that emerges from each piece of work.

By the end of the five weekends, participants will have developed:

• An understanding of the process oriented approach to human behavior
• Real skills that can be transferred to their own work setting
• Confidence in working with the presenting issues of individuals, couples, and groups using process oriented methods

What You Will Learn

·         More confidence in working in a process oriented way with the presenting issues of individuals, couples, and groups using process oriented methods.

·         Practice in accessing the central feeling attitudes of openness, empty mind, and eldership required for the best use of our attention and awareness skills.

·         Practice in noticing and mapping the structure of the “client’s” perception of their situation.

·         Capacity to make effective therapeutic interventions and to follow the client’s energetic feedback.

·         Growing awareness of the patterns common in human experience through repeated therapeutic experience and case work .

Training with Dr Jane Martin

A bit about this training group: If you've never been before and are thinking of coming: The Sydney Process Oriented Psychology Training Group with Dr Jane Martin is a dynamic, safe and creative way to learn Process Oriented Psychology whilst working on personal, family or other group and world issues. The group is open to anyone interested in learning about process work and developing their skills for a range of applications. It's a group consisting of people with lots of different life experience and professional affiliation. Participant's backgrounds to date include health and healing practitioners, psychologists-social workers, psychologists in training, therapists from different modalities, a theatre company director, youth workers, environment workers, gay and lesbian rights activists and leadership and organisational development practitioners.
People have diverse experience of process work ranging from a beginning interest, to students studying for their Diploma. The group welcomes newcomers and is great at including new members in a friendly atmosphere. Jane is attentive to participant's specific learning goals and facilitates members' participation at their chosen level. Feel free to come and observe.
