Deep Dive
THE THEORY AND PRACTICE OF WORKING WITH RELATIONSHIPSRelationships can sometimes be difficult and complicated, no more so than now with the challenging developments happening in the world. Though they are often wonderful, they can also be painful and confusing and difficult to navigate.
When we are tasked to facilitate them, within our own relationships, or on behalf of a client, we need every bit of awareness, practice, ongoing training and supervision that we can manage.
Process work has a unique, useful and effective way of approaching relationship work. Whether it is our work, or something that we are deeply interested in for our own relationship life, we can all train our awareness, skills and feeling attitudes to become more able to follow and unfold what is naturally trying to happen between people.
In this workshop, Dr Susan Hatch will share key learnings from her 30 years of working with couples, relationship dynamics and power dynamics using Process Oriented Psychology.
Participants will have the space to practice the central skills and metaskills required for this work live with each other in the big group and in breakout rooms. We are keeping registrations to around 20 people for this workshop.

What participants said about last year’s Training and Supervision Group with Susan and Ilana on Zoom
This has been the best process work training I’ve done, it was immensely valuable to me. I felt privileged to be learning from Susan.
Awesome balance of theory and practice. I love how Susan delivered really pertinent and concise theory in real response to the moment, the particular questions, and what was needed. Great worksheets as well, but really invigorating to hear Susan deliver theory from her own mind and experience. Felt like she was really switched on and sharp with the concepts and spirit of process work. Very effective learning. I learnt the most from live demonstrations in which we got to try process work ourselves and as a group. I also learnt a lot from Susan’s facilitation in that she had a plan but also went with what was being called for by the group in the moment. The group was both real with and respectful of each other. There was a lot of heart in it.
This training was immensely valuable to me. The opportunity to put the learning straight into practical application was the best learning for me. Also being invited to observe others unfolding processes was deeply informative. I am very grateful to the group members for their openness and generosity in this regard. It was such a caring, intelligently compassionate group led by someone who is extremely skilled in intelligent compassion. It was life changing for me actually. I have experienced an opening and a calming of my mind and heart that has permeated all facets of my life and interactions with other beings. I have struggled my whole life with connection and have sought education and development in regard to that since early adulthood. This training facilitated a quantum leap for me regarding connection and acceptance – to and of myself, and therefore to and of others as well.
Thank you!
This workshop exposed me to radical perceptions, frameworks, concepts and tools. It was a totally empowering and loving environment to be a part of. I felt an exceptionally real sense of belonging and support from everyone involved. The integrity, passion and world class skill/experience Susan facilitates from is something truly special; something truly rare to come across. It’s a learning experience that has given me a huge confidence boost and a powerful edge in how I work and support others. The added clear, effective and personalised support Ilana brings into the space further enhanced my experience to be one that is professional, easeful and seamless in its delivery.
Thank you for an amazing year.
Susan, in my opinion, is one of the best teachers of Process-oriented psychology. She makes it easy to understand and I always feel seen and held in all my attempts to use Process Work as a facilitator within the group.
I loved the workshop and the online approach.
In particular, I found unfolding someone’s process in various stages to be most helpful. For example, first 3 minutes, small group analysis and then having someone unfold the process in front of the large group. The online format I thought was perfect, with clear communication instructions for the large group, time-limited break out groups and then returning to the large group to debrief. Thank you both for creating such a wonderful learning vibe and community.
The enthusiasm and skills of Susan in holding a group is phenomenal! The preparation for the training and structure were great! I really liked the acknowledgement of country and of people ancestors and the land. The depth of this was something very special.
